NSCDC shines at maiden Armed Forces Half Marathon Championship

Gideon Goyet and Deborah Pam both of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) have won the maiden Armed Forces and Security Agencies Half Marathon Championship.
Goyet, a Corporal Assistant 3 from Plateau State, won in the male category with a time of 1hr 08:54 while Pam, also a Corporal Assistant from Plateau State outran her counterparts in the female category to make a time of 1hr 21:42 in the championship held in Abuja on Saturday.
Gyang Emmanuel, a Corporal Assistant 2 from Plateau State also of NSCDC came second with a time of 1hr 09:37 while Kefas Williams (Plateau State) of the Nigeria Police took the third position with 1hr 12:02 timing to complete the first three in the male category.
Speaking to our correspondent reporter after the championship, Goyet said he knew he was going to win the marathon, adding that, “I trained hard for the championship.”
In the female category Njoku Genevieve and Dabatu Janet Dung both of the NSCDC took the second and third positions respectively.
