Ogun people disappointed as Buhari fails to show at stadium

President Buhari visited Ogun state for the 40 years anniversary of the creation of the state
-The people waited in anticipation for the president but he didn’t show up at the stadium
President Muhammadu Buhari visited Ogun state and while the president’s visit was welcome with excitement, a section of the people was left reeling with disappointment.
The president who was in the state to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the creation of Ogun state reportedly arrived on Monday, February 1. Many people were led to believe that the president would be at the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abeokuta on Tuesday to celebrate with him.
A lot of students from primary and secondary schools in Abeokuta and surrounding communities were waiting at the stadium believing that the president would be there as soon as he had commissioned selected roads in the state with Governor Ibikunle Amosun. To their utmost surprise however, Buhari and Amosun instead moved to the palace of the Alake of Egba land.
One aged man who was clearly disappointed as he moved with other people out of the stadium said in Yoruba that the president had just played politics on them as they were all led to believe that the president would be coming to the stadium
“They just showed us how politics is played. We were told the president would be in the stadium and we have been here since morning only to discover now that the president s not coming to the stadium,” the unhappy aged man said.
